Red Dead Redemption 2 Should Bring Back the Series…

    본문

We're in an unprecedented year where we'll get to see gaming's highest selling annual franchise face off against the developers behind history's highest sold game. It's going to be a fun fight to watch, but come October, I think I'll put my money on the cowboy.

3Royal-Enfield-Bullet-350.jpgMinigames in open-world titles, by most accounts, can serve as bite-sized bits of variety in-between missions or while traveling across the map; good for some mild distraction, but usually not much more. But in the rare occasions, minigames like these can add a surprising amount to the believability and depth of a world beyond just its map size and scale. Given that I put in as much time into The Witcher 3 's Gwent as I did in most other games by themselves, there's certainly something to be said that when done well, open world minigames can add so much more to a believable game world in their own right. And inside the game's world drenched in the imagery and themes of the Wild West, Red Dead Redemption 's minigames were definitely some of the best examples of that extra level of detail and immersion.

In a rage, Molly arrives at the camp only to reveal that she ratted out Dutch to Agent Milton. Miss Grimshaw shoots her and the gang is left to recoup. The problem is, Molly lied. Micah was the real rat which Milton confirms. So why did she admit to ratting them out? Honestly, there’s no fully acceptable reason other than narrative intervent

The Red Dead series has never been grounded in reality. From as early as red dead redemption 2 side Quests Dead Revolver , Red Harlow’s adventures were basically a glorified cartoon. The game was even going to feature supernatural elements at one point. Come Redemption , the tone has gotten more serious, but John Marston is still an interpretation of the legendary gunslinger tr

Black Ops 4 is scheduled to launch on October 12, 2018, which many folks might realize is a bit earlier than normal. If you've been paying attention over the past few years, or every year since 2006 to be specific, you've likely become accustomed to the annual Call of Duty game releasing in the first or second week of November. It's become standardized to expect Activision's blockbuster shooter to drop at some point during this span but that's all changed this year. Is it just pure happenstance? Maybe. But I think there's something a bit more to it. I believe that Activision is concerned about being caught in the shadow of Red Dead Redemption 2 .

Okay, so you've bonded with your horse. What exactly does that get you? Well, it turns out there are quite a few different benefits to having a horse in your corner. There are some gradual bonuses; the more you've bonded with your horse, the further your horse will be willing to gallop on its own when it hears you whistle. It's certainly not going to run across the map when you call, but the range definitely does improve. And, the more you bond with your horse, the less likely it is to get stolen. Apparently those talks about "Stranger Danger" paid off. Your horse will also be willing to wade into deeper waters with you, and generally be fine with going into sketchier terr

While the two are married in their own sense and call each other husband and wife, they are not common law married. Nobody in the gang recognizes them as married overtly so there’s nothing to contradict Dutch’s claim, but it’s quite clear Dutch is referring to a real marriage in the first game. The bigger problem is they get married AFTER the last mission meaning Dutch would never have kn

It’s hard to pinpoint just what exactly is a plot hole. Some deem it a narrative inconsistency, others consider plot holes to be anything the story cannot realistically justify. While the latter is certainly the most true to definition explanation, does that mean that character inconsistencies and continuity errors aren’t plot holes? After all, they’re creating holes in a story where there otherwise would be none. Regardless of what your definition of a plot hole ultimately is, you have to admit that inconsistencies are bound to turn up in any story regardless of quality. Doubly so for particularly long stor

Kieran’s role in the gang is a strange one from start to finish. Where he begins as a hostage nobody likes, he ends as a hostage nobody likes. Upon saving Arthur’s life in Chapter 2, Arthur decides to do Kieran the courtesy of letting him go. In giving him his freedom, Kieran gets a second chance but ultimately chooses to stay with Dutch’s G

This is another find that is perhaps just the start of another quest. If you head directly south of the I in Ambarino, you can find a house reminiscent of ones you can find in The Shire from The Lord of the Rings . Unfortunately, you can't go inside. There is something else off about it though. Above the door is a turtle symbol, the same one the cult Mary's brother tried to join. Is there a connection? Perhaps we'll soon find

Okay, maybe not, but your horse is going to get hungry. And just like Arthur, the hungrier your horse gets, the lower its cores are going to stoop. You can feed your horse a lot of different things that Arthur could eat himself, but not quite everything. Some of the best and most easily obtainable stuff to give your horse seems to be carrots and apples. They rejuvenate your horse much more than they rejuvenate Arthur, and what way better is there to gain a new companion than sharing a snack with t
